2008 TTOS National Convention Brochure

GENERAL INFORMATION

Sacramento is located at the northern end of California’s Central Valley and is the western terminus of the Transcontinental Railroad.

Sacramento is in the heart of the California Gold Rush country, and the capitol of the State of California.

This year our tours will be mostly train oriented to reflect the many faces of railroading in California. Guides will be on most tours.

Wear comfortable shoes and carry a hat; it can be very warm in Sacramento in August. We recommend jackets or coats on all longer tours as it can be quite chilly in the hills.

The deadline for tour refunds is July 16, 2008. No convention refunds after July 31, 2008.

The Sacramento Airport is approximately 15 miles north of the Holiday Inn on Interstate 5. For those that choose to drive to the convention, Interstate 5, State Route 80, and Hwy 99 all intersect in Sacramento.
